EBM Reviews - Cochrane Controlled Trials Register
About: CCTR is a bibliographic database of definitive controlled trials. These controlled trials have been identified by the distinguished contributors to the Cochrane Collaboration. They and others, as part of an international effort to search the world's health care journals (and other sources of information) systematically, have combined results to create an unbiased source of data for systematic reviews. Because it has been shown that existing bibliographic databases are inadequate for the identification of all relevant studies, the Cochrane Collaboration embarked upon this formidable task in co-operation with the National Library of Medicine (NLM) in Washington, DC (USA) who produce MEDLINE and Reed Elsevier of Amsterdam (the Netherlands) who produce EMBASE.

About: MD Consult provides access to full-text information, including:

Before you can use MD Consult, you must complete a one-time, online registration form. When you complete this online form you will assign yourself a permanent MD Consult username and password. You will receive on-screen registration instructions when you access the database.

Registration is free if you access MD Consult via a TMC IP address.

Although it is possible to access MD Consult via Library's remote access, you cannot register for MD Consult via remote access.

MEDLINE
About: PubMed includes all the records from MEDLINE and PREMEDLINE. MEDLINE contains 9 million bibliographic records from approximately 3,900 current biomedical journals. Records date back to 1966. PREMEDLINE provides basic citation information and abstracts before the full records are prepared and added to MEDLINE. New records are added to PREMEDLINE daily. PubMed also provides access to the molecular biology databases included in NCBI's Entrez retrieval system and will provide access to any National Library of Medicine databases added in the future. About: Uncover Reveal is an automated alerting service which can deliver two types of information to individual email addresses.
