Collaborating with authors and publishers, the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) adapts biomedical books for the web. They may either be accessed via direct search or via “Books” links in PubMed abstracts. There are more than 1,400 open-access titles in the Bookshelf. Browse by date, title, subject, publisher and document type. Among the titles are guides to using NCBI databases and sites, Surgeon General reports, and information from various agencies.
