The Jesse H. Jones Community Health Information Center is a cooperative consumer health information project that allows the Library and its partners--the UT Houston Health Science Center, the Houston Public Library, the Harris County Public Library, and the Houston Department of Health and Human Services--to improve information services to the community. The Center is designed to help citizens locate specific health materials to meet their immediate health needs and to serve health care providers, and health professional students in training. The project includes the Houston Healthways consumer-health Website and consumer-health resources provided by the Library.

Services to the Public:

  • Houston Healthways
  • Medical videos and books written for the lay person.
  • Free consumer library card.
  • Expert reference assistance with medical questions.
  • Computers with Internet access.
  • Databases such as Health Reference Center and Alt-Health Watch.

Send an email to our consumer-health librarian.
