New Library Fees

Effective September 1st, the Library will be increasing fees for coin photocopies to $0.25 per page and copycard printouts and photocopies to $0.20 per page.

 

Photocopy service for cardholders will cost $9, Interlibrary Loan from a local library network will cost $5, from a non-local library network will cost $15.

 

Library Website Coming up in September

The Library website is being developed and will be available in September. Some of the new features include:

 

  • streamlined access to electronic resources
  • quick access to specific journals and databases

Library Project Funded to Promote Community-Based Health Information Outreach

The Houston Academy of Medicine–Texas Medical Center Library will partner collaboratively with Family to Family Network and the School of Library and Information Studies at Texas Woman’s University to implement a project improving access to health information and eliminating disparities among underserved and under-represented populations.

Journal Citation Reports

Journal Citation Reports (JCR), the comprehensive resource database that allows you to evaluate and compare journals, has been updated.

Word on Health, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) consumer health information website, is based on research conducted by NIH's own scientists or by their grantees at universities and medical schools around the country. It is a free non-copyrighted source of health information.
