Current
Journals |
|
Current journals are those received in
the most recent 6-12 months. These are located on the first floor,
shelved alphabetically. Journals received during the last two
days are placed on separate shelves at the beginning of the current
journal stacks. (If the official journal title is an acronym,
the journal will be shelved at the beginning of the first letter.
For example, BMJ (British Medical Journal) is kept at
the start of the "B" section.) |
Bound
Journals |
|
Bound journals are kept on the second floor,
shelved alphabetically. As with the current journals, if the official
journal title is an acronym, the journal will be shelved at the
beginning of the first letter. For example, BMJ (British Medical
Journal) is kept at the start of the "B" section. |
Core
Collections |
|
The core collection includes course reserves
and textbooks the Library tries to make available at all times.
They can be checked out from the Circulation Desk for use in the
Library. Generally, additional copies of the same title are in
the main book section. |
Reference
Collection |
|
The reference collection is kept in the
waist-high wooden shelves on the first floor near the main entrance.
(Selected reference items are kept in the Reference Storage area
acessible by going down the staircase near the reference collection.) |
Books |
|
Most books are kept on the first floor
towards the rear of the Library building. Oversized books are
shelved on the second floor towards the front of the building. |
Audiovisuals |
|
Audiovisual materials are shelved on the
first floor near the Circulation Desk. |
