This class will demonstrate how EndNote can be used to manage systematic review searches to blind-screen and organize large citation sets.

Descriptions: INCF develops and maintains database and computational infrastructure for neuroscientists. Software tools and standards for the international neuroinformatics community are developed through INCF programs that address infrastructural issues of high importance to the neuroscience community. INCF collects and makes available neuroinformatics tools in the INCF Software Center, where anyone can upload documentation, executables and related files, track use of their software, create a wiki, and establish development teams. Two of the most popular INCF products are Waxholm Space and MUSIC, which are direct outcomes of the INCF Program on Digital Atlasing and Multi-Scale Modeling, respectively. INCF also arranges Scientific Workshops and holds an annual neuroinformatics conference.

Descriptions: The Whole Brain Catalog is the flagship project of the Whole Brain Project at the University of California - San Diego. It is an open source, downloadable, multi-scale virtual catalog of the mouse brain and its cellular components, providing zoomable 3D views of structures and their surroundings deep inside the mouse brain. The data is also brought to life with simulation and animation. "In providing open source and collaborative tools, the Whole Brain Project allows neuroscience researchers to make new connections with collaborators and newly discovered data. Combining previously unconnected databases across a single network make possible new and exciting insights about the brain."

Descriptions: This atlas is a neuroimaging educational tool, showing trans-axial, saggital and coronal views of the brain in cross-sectional MRI, CT and nuclear imaging techniques, with side-by-side navigation. Image series are provided for the normal brain and for its disease states: cardiovascular, neoplastic, degenerative and inflammatory/infectious. In disease states, clicking a link reading "clinical" will bring the user to a page of text explaining the case being viewed. The "Top 100 Brain Structures" feature is a study tool allowing the user to view structures individually, or to view a group of brain structures marked with pointers, labelled or unlabelled. The site is co-sponsored by the Departments of Radiology and Neurology at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, its Countway Library of Medicine and the American Academy of Neurology.

Descriptions: BioEd Online is an award-winning life sciences educational resource from Baylor's Center for Educational Outreach. Designed for teachers and their students from elementary to high school level, it contains engaging multimedia teaching and course materials, including lesson demonstrations, on genetics, neuroscience, viruses, environmental science and more topics. Resources include a library of downloadable slide sets, as well as videos, podcasts and .pdf teaching guides. BioEd Online is edited by a distinguished group of Baylor College of Medicine faculty and staff, and funded by NIH Blueprint for Neuroscience Education and others. The website also features a series of video presentations for K-8 students on life science experiments in space, funded by NASA and sponsored by the National Space Biomedical Research Institute. Although all courses are free to HISD teachers and Baylor-affiliated faculty and staff after obtaining a log-in, full access to some requires a subscription for other users. Teacher contact-hour certification available for more advanced courses.

Descriptions: The American Academy of Neurology website provides a wealth of resources for the professional: an online community, CME opportunities, news, links on legislation affecting neurology, practice guidelines, position statements, podcasts, and sections devoted to neurologic specialties. Medical students, residents and fellows get special attention. Medical and PhD students who do not want a subscription to the Academy's journal can still register for free access to certain features of the website. Some resources, podcasts, for instance, are available only to AAN members. A section for patients and caregivers promotes greater understanding of neurology, and provides information on diseases and disorders, as well as links to further information.

Descriptions: This site contains and links to a huge number of resources for the Alzheimer researcher. Features include: a live discussion forum; citations to the latest papers (linking to PubMed); an international listing of institutes and laboratories; separate links for news on drugs, conferences and research; clinics information for the consumer; and more items too numerous to list here. It also provides links to the AlzSWAN Knowledge Base (see separate website listing) and its tutorials, and a collection of special seminars, on-line journal club discussions, recorded talks and other presentations that describe a variety of scientific hypotheses about the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease.
