Descriptions: TOXNET is a cross-searchable cluster of databases covering toxicology, hazardous chemicals, environmental health, toxic releases and related areas. Search all databases from the center search box, or choose a database to search. This portal is managed by the Toxicology and Environmental Health Information Program, Division of Specialized Information Services, National Library of Medicine. Texas Poison Center Network

Descriptions: Texas legislators established the  TPCN to set up a network of six regional poison centers to provide emergency treatment information to Texas citizens for poisonings and toxic exposures. This site provides prevention and first aid information, fact sheets and materials for educational programs, information on poisonous plants and animals, and a useful selection of links to other relevant sites, including ASPCA's pet poisoning/prevention information. Publications are free to download, print or order. The general information brochure can be downloaded or printed here, in English and eleven other languages. A Recalls section links to lists of recalls of consumer products, pesticides, vehicles, foods and medicines.

Descriptions: The NIOSH site is primarily a source of statistics and data gathered from the agency's research and surveillance on workplace safety and hazardous exposure. Under Other Data Resources are data on investigations, hazards, safety products, metrics and tests. The Publications area has many useful reports with links to authoritative outside  sources. A downloadable Pocket Guide to Chemical Hazards and a downloadable NIOSH Manual of Analytical Methods are also under Publications. From this site, the user can also link to the search box for NIOSHTIC-2,  a bibliographic database of approximately 51,000 articles, grant reports and other documents, the research for which was supported, wholly or in part, by NIOSH.

Descriptions: The Canary Database represents the selection, curation, and indexing of thousands of scientific studies from MEDLINE, CAB Abstracts, and Agricola on the evidence of animals' function as "early warning" sentinels of human health hazards. Contains bibliographic records from MEDLINE and other databases. Includes studies of wildlife, companion and livestock animals, drawing together records of animal exposure or health effects that may also be considered relevant to human health.
