On July 25, 2014, ProQuest will make improvements to its internal systems and prepare to launch new technology for 360 Link.

The new technology for 360 Link – Index Enhanced Direct Linking (IEDL) and a new Sidebar Helper frame – will provide the most reliable access to full text, enable libraries to maintain a seamless presence in the researcher’s workflow, and promote additional resources. 

The following products and platforms will not be available from approximately 7:00 PM CDT, Friday, July 25, 2014 through 5:00 AM CDT, Saturday, July 26, 2014.

• Management services (360 Resource Manager, 360 Counter, 360 Core, Ulrichsweb, Ulrich’s Serials Analysis System, and Intota)
• Administration centers for our discovery services (Summon, 360 Link, 360 Search, and 360 Core)

Please note this maintenance is for library internal resources: Patron-facing discovery services will not be affected.

The Resource Management Department is working on resolving access issues involving some EBSCO databases.

The graphic on the left column, displays the results you may get when attempting to access journals in the EBSCO databases.
  
And, in Science Direct, users aren’t prompted for their library usernames and passwords when they try to get to full text articles using either the A to Z list, or the Science Direct link in the databases list. However, users have been successfully accessing full text articles in Science Direct going through our PubMed link.

Technical Access Support personnel for both publisher sites have been contacted and we are hoping to have these issues resolved soon.

Due to maintenance, the elevator in garage 3 will not be in service on Thursday, July 24th and Friday, July 25th. Those who park in garage 3, will not be able to use the elevator to access the library.

The TMC Library will be closed on Friday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day.

Regular hours resume on Saturday, July 5.

Get started with RefWorks citation management software! RefWorks is a web-based citation management program that allows you to organize references in one convenient location as well as to format your paper and bibliography. This class will teach you to set up an account, import citations, build your bibliography and format your paper.

*It is highly recommended that participants in this class have experience searching PubMed or other databases, and using Microsoft Word.

Learn how to use PubMed, the National Library of Medicine’s search service, which provides access to over 23 million citations for biomedical literature. Emphasis will be on searching by keywords, subject headings, and authors as well as on using filters and limiters to retrieve relevant information.
