Descriptions: For the consumer, NCCAM's website has a great deal of information: Topics A-Z, Herbs at a Glance (a collection of fact sheets which can now be downloaded as a book), safety information, information on how to find a practitioner of alternative and complementary medicine, and more.  There are also a News section and a Research Results section, both of which may be of interest to consumers. There is a fairly extensive list of free videos on (for the most part) health topics that pertain to aging in some way, or to diseases. For the health professional or researcher, there is good information on grants and funding, including NCCAM's priorities for research, as well as a blog about NCCAM research initiatives, and a Continuing Education Series of online lectures.

Search by brand name, active ingredients or manufacturer. The information available may include adverse effects, mechanism of action and FDA warnings and recalls. Records for on- and off-market supplements are included. The aim is to provide label information for all supplements on the market, so that DSLD will serve as a resource for longitudinal studies on the trends in dietary supplement product availability and formulation in the U.S. as well as for the demographics of their use.
