Descriptions: First funded by Congress in 2005, the Effective Health Care Program funds and synthesizes the findings of teams of researchers and clinicians across North America, to identify ways to improve the quality of health care through evidence-based decision-making. Research summaries are available for consumers (many with Spanish translations), clinicians and policy-makers. Also for patients, short videos on treatment options, helpful comparative charts on the effectiveness of different treatments for various conditions. Many resources in various formats are provided. The Program invites comments and topic research/review suggestions, and data deposit by medical professionals. Links are provided to plug-ins for viewing video content.

CHEMM: Chemical Hazards Emergency Medical Management

Descriptions: CHEMM enables first responders and other healthcare providers and planners to plan for, respond to, recover from, and mitigate the effects of mass-casualty incidents involving accidental or terrorist chemical releases. CHEMM is downloadable, in order to be available when the Internet is inaccessible. It provides evidence-based information and guidance on a wide variety of topics, including quick chemical identification, acute patient care guidelines, and initial event activities. The Intelligent Syndromes Tool combines and measures  answers to quick questions about a patient's symptoms input by a responder, in order to determine the probable chemical agent involved; links posted above the probable causes lead to a full record with recommended procedures.

Descriptions: CINAHL Plus with Full Text is the standard, essential comprehensive index to nursing and allied health articles, containing cover-to-cover current full text of more than 400 of the top journals it indexes. It also includes some e-books and short monographs, as well as providing more than half a million historical full-text articles dating back to 1937. CINAHL uses a controlled subject vocabulary for better search results. Evidence-based Care Sheets, Quick Lessons, and Continuing Education Units augment the student experience.
