Cell, the: An Image Libary

database

Provider: American Society for Cell Biology
Contents: , , , ,
Access Level: ,
Descriptions: Supported by an award from National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) and NIH, this is a peer-reviewed repository of thousands of often stunning microscopic images of cell types, processes and components. Most are free to use or under Creative Commons license by the authors, rather than restricted by publisher copyright. Free sign-in gives the user the ability to save images in a folder. Broader features like multiple public and private folders, sharing and annotation are in development. Many videos are also posted. Researchers are urged to contribute from their own work and experiments. For more information on the intent and the many current as well as future features of the database, read more at Leica Science Lab.

database

Provider: David Wishart/University of Alberta, CA
Contents: ,
Access Level: ,
Descriptions: A bio- and chemical informatics resource that combines detailed drug (chemical, pharmacological and pharmaceutical) data with comprehensive drug targeting (sequence, structure, and pathway) information. The database contains nearly 4300 drug entries, including FDA-approved small molecule drugs, FDA-approved biotech (protein/peptide) drugs, "nutraceuticals" and experimental drugs. Contains more than 6,800 drug entries with almost 4,300 non-redundant protein sequences linked.
