Continuing our exploration of the films, videos, and sound recordings newly available because of our recent TMC History A\/V Digitization Project<\/a>, we\u2019ve put together a highlight reel<\/a> featuring some of the most memorable content about the TMC Library itself. Following an in-person premiere for library staff, the video is now available to stream on the McGovernHRC YouTube channel<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This 30-minute program highlights the history of the Texas Medical Center Library as it changes over the years 1973 to 1997. It\u2019s a journey through card catalogs, the old rare books room, former colleagues, once-upon-a-time services, the introduction of \u201cmicro-computers,\u201d and the evolution of the Jones Library Building.<\/p>\n

Featured programs include: Texas Medical Center “Visions<\/a>” (1985); the Jesse H. Jones Library Expansion Dedication<\/a> and Groundbreaking<\/a> (May 25, 1973); Channel 10 “Midday” TMC Library Stories<\/a> (mid-1980s); and Houston Academy of Medicine – Texas Medical Center Library “Meeting the Challenge<\/a>” (October 1997). They\u2019re all part of either IC 001 Texas Medical Center Library records<\/a> or IC 002 Texas Medical Center records<\/a>.<\/p>\n
