The Stanley Donald Greenberg papers<\/a> collection has been newly processed and a finding aid<\/a> is now available at the McGovern Historical Center and Archive.<\/p>\n

This collection (5 boxes\/3.5 cu. ft.) consists of artwork, publications, photographs, awards, correspondence, notes, and other items related to Greenberg\u2019s research, teaching, professional, and personal life. It provides a wonderful snapshot of Greenberg\u2019s daily life with notes, and ephemera from his personal life interspersed among folders of scientific research, publications, and correspondence. The collection is arranged in four series: Biographical Information & Personal Papers<\/a>, Research & Publications [Restricted]<\/a>, <\/span>Teaching & Educational Materials<\/a>, and Awards, Photographs, & Artwork<\/a>.<\/p>\n

[This list of Dr. Greenberg\u2019s tasks for December 21, 1994, includes finishing work on Mesothelioma slides, faxing material at Kinko\u2019s, and going to the shoe repair shop., Box 1, MS119 Stanley Donald Greenberg MD, papers, McGovern Historical Center, Texas Medical Center Library]<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/figcaption>Greenberg was born July 27, 1930, in Beaumont, Texas. He was educated at Lamar University, the University of Texas at Austin, and Baylor College of Medicine where he received his doctorate in medicine in 1954. He interned at the Wesley Memorial Hospital in Chicago and completed two residencies, one in Otolaryngology at University Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa and one in Pathology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Greenberg served on the faculty at Baylor College of Medicine from 1975 to 1994 as Professor of Pathology, Otolaryngology, and Internal Medicine. In 1994, he was recognized as Emeritus Professor of Pathology until his death on May 6, 1999.<\/figure>\n

Greenberg was widely known as an expert on asbestosis and other lung diseases. He was the recipient of many recognitions for his work both as a scholar and teacher. He was a prolific researcher, his scholarly work includes 17 national grants, two books,15 book chapters, and 236 papers on pulmonary disease and cytopathology.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
