Inside the Library
Visitors to the Library have access to all of the Library’s electronic resources. Visitors not affiliated with a TMC institution must visit the Circulation desk to be verified and issued a pass.
If you’re with Baylor College of Medicine or UTHealth, you may, but don’t need to, register here. Your institutional log-in gives you remote access to library resources via Open Athens. Others may register for an Open Athens account here.
If you are affiliated with more than one TMC institution, please register using your academic credentials to gain full access to all e-resources.

Other Registered Users and the Public
Other registered users and the public have limited remote access to the Library’s electronic resources. Open-access e-journals, databases and websites that are free to the Library are available for accessing remotely. Academic resources that are restricted may be accessed by anyone visiting the Library in person.
Free and Open-Access Resources
The TMC Library provides links to a selective and expanding collection of authoritative free and open-access journals, databases, and websites/web applications. We also link to resources in general sciences, education, and reference. Click the links below to view these collections.
About Open-Access Journals
Tips to help you locate free, reputable online articles:
To find free databases, select the sorting option “free” or “open access”; browse alphabetically, enter a keyword, or choose from an existing record’s keywords to generate a list of related resources. Many free resources may be of interest to various academic or consumer groups. Some databases require you to register to get full access to all features.
Websites and Web Applications
Content of most websites offered on the Library’s site is free. Browse alphabetically, enter a keyword in the search box, or click a keyword in one of the records for a list of related websites.
