Descriptions: The 24 Languages Project is a portal for electronic access to over 200 health education brochures in Arabic, Armenian, Cambodian, Chinese, Croatian, English, Farsi, French, German, Haitian Creole, Hmong, Japanese, Korean, Laotian, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Samoan, Serbo-Croatian, Somali, Spanish, Tagalog, Thai, Tongan and Vietnamese languages. In many cases, the information is provided in both .pdf and sound recording formats. All instances of these patient information documents may be downloaded and distributed for noncommercial use. Be advised that most of the information is not available in all languages, and some of the information available has not been updated recently.

Search coverage includes: MedlinePlus, ClinicalTrials.gov, DailyMed, Dietary Supplements Labels Database, HSDB and LactMed along with other US Government resources, like Drugs@FDA and AIDSinfo. Covers drugs with official generic name status like USAN (United States Adopted Name) or INN (International Nonproprietary Name)and drugs with categories extracted from NLM MeSH Pharmacological Action data. Some coverage for international and experimental drugs.

Descriptions: DailyMed provides high quality information about marketed drugs according to FDA approved labels (package inserts). This website provides health information providers and the public with a standard, comprehensive, up-to-date search and download resource on medications. A "Product Identification System" feature allows the user to identify unknown medications by entering criteria based on the appearance of a pill. A related database called Pillbox, in beta development at this writing and located at http://pillbox.nlm.nih.gov/ will presumably replace the Product Identification System tool in the near future.

Descriptions: From the website: RxNorm provides standard names for clinical drugs... and for dose forms as administered to a patient. It provides links from clinical drugs, both branded and generic, to their active ingredients, drug components (active ingredient + strength), and related brand names... RxNorm links its names to many of the drug vocabularies commonly used in pharmacy management and drug interaction software, including... First Databank, Micromedex, MediSpan, Gold Standard Alchemy, and Multum. By providing links between these vocabularies, RxNorm can mediate messages between systems not using the same software and vocabulary. RxNorm is one of a suite of designated standards for use in U.S. Federal Government systems for the electronic exchange of clinical health information.
