Katherine A. Prentice (Katie) has been appointed Executive Director of the TMC Library effective December 7, 2020. She replaces Debbie Sibley, Executive Director since August 2017.
Eric Solberg, Vice President for Academic and Research Affairs at UTHealth, and current Chair of the TMC Library Board led the search for the Executive Director. “We are excited to welcome Katie Prentice back to Texas, and specifically to this leadership position that is so important to Texas Medical Center institutions. With nearly two decades in health sciences libraries, including nine years with the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio’s Briscoe Library, the Library Board is confident that Katie will provide outstanding leadership and direction to our library.”

Web of Science is a database that integrates multiple citation databases. All cited references for all publications are fully indexed and searchable. Searches may include all authors and all author affiliations. Users may track citation activity with Citation Alerts, as well as the Analyze Results feature to identify trends and publication patterns.
Journal Citation Reports provides impact factors and rankings of many journals in the social and life sciences based on millions of citations. Sort options including impact factor, total cites, total articles, and immediacy index. JCR provides a five-year impact factor and visualized trend data.
The SPIE eBooks Digital Library is a growing collection of books on optics and photonics. The collection includes the SPIE Press monographs, reference works, field guides, tutorial texts, and Spotlight eBooks. Topics include Biomedical Optics & Medical Imaging, Imaging & Signal Processing, Nanotechnology, Optical Design & Engineering, and others.
LibKey Nomad is an optional Chrome browser extension that uses the same technology as Browzine to get you to PDFs faster—even in PubMed! It eliminates the need to find the “Open Athens login” on publisher sites and the frustration of having to find the PDF button on different publisher sites.
Go to the Chrome Store to download the browser extension. If you don’t like it, simply remove it from Chrome!
