September is World Suicide Prevention Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness and promoting action to prevent suicide. It’s a vital opportunity to address a critical public health issue that affects our community and beyond. On Wednesday, September 10th, and throughout the month, we encourage you to take a moment to educate yourselves on this important topic.
The TMC Library offers a wealth of resources, including access to scholarly articles and mental health databases that can deepen your understanding of the psychological and social factors contributing to suicide.
We encourage you to learn more about this condition and its impact. The TMC Library offers many resources on digestive health, nutrition, and stress management. To get started, you can explore our databases and print collection.
We also want to provide a special message for our veteran community. The transition from military to civilian life can present unique challenges, and we want to ensure that all of our veterans have the support they need. Organizations like 22 Until There’s None work to raise awareness about the veteran suicide rate and provide critical resources. Please know that your health and well-being are a top priority.
If you or someone you know is in crisis, remember that help is available. You can always reach out to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline for confidential support, 24/7.
