Descriptions: This sector of the CDC website on radiation emergencies is a prime resource on radiation disasters for public health professionals, emergency responders and individual healthcare practitioners. It presents patient and management information, guidelines and recommendations, and links to additional online training resources, including short videos. Some fact sheets contain general information suitable for the layman: being prepared, sheltering in place and other protective measures, facts about contamination levels and substances in food and water, the difference between contamination and exposure, and more.
