Descriptions: Openstax is a collaborative repository environment from Rice University for the storage, creation and publishing of online educational materials, primarily college-level textbooks. The course material, using xml, is packaged in stand-alone, modular format, in order to facilitate the compilation of educational materials according to the needs of individual learners. "Dr. Richard Baraniuk founded OpenStax (then Connexions) in 1999 at Rice University to provide authors and learners with an open space where they can share and freely adapt educational materials such as courses, books, and reports... There are tens of thousands of learning objects organized into thousands of textbook-style books in a host of disciplines, all easily accessible online and downloadable to almost any device, anywhere, anytime."

Use the GHDx to research population census data, surveys, registries, indicators and estimates, administrative health data, and financial data related to health. The provider, the IHME, is an educational and research public health organization, and provides fellowships at the bachelor's and graduate levels. IHME publishes the BioMed Central journal, Population Health Metrics, and various open-access reports. There are many interesting resources here.
