What’s your impact? Presenting the New Citation Report in Web of Science

The new Citation Report tool in the Web of Science database lets you measure the impact and reach of your research or the research of any author in the sciences.

Track who is citing your publications and with what frequency an article is cited. Simply go to Web of Science, conduct an author search, then click “Create Citation Report.”

Citation Reports

Once inside the interactive dashboard, you will see a score called the h-index, or Hirsch index, a standard metric which attempts to quantify the impact of a particular scientist or researcher in the sciences through production and citation activity. (Note that the Web of Science calculates an h-index using all years that an institution has subscribed to so a Web of Science h-index might look different when searched through different institutions.) You can also obtain citation information for each published article.
