The Friends of the TMC Library Oral History Project began last year, and the first six interviews and transcripts are available on our collections site.

The project seeks to identify, capture, and preserve the histories of those individuals who have made singular contributions to their professions and to the Texas Medical Center (TMC). It is a mix of formal oral history interviews that explore careers and informal TMC Memories that focus on moments from unique perspectives.
Nominations are accepted on a continuous basis. Up to five personalities will be selected each year to be interviewed by the project historian. Interviews and transcripts are made available online by March 31.
The 2023 nominees were honored at a reception held at the McGovern Historical Center (8272 El Rio) on March 14.
